I am looking into a new(ish) laptop. Second hand or refurb for sure.
I am wondering what Macbooks have been known to play well with Ubuntu these days.
I want to go System 76, but the idea...
I just picked up a killer new TV for my man cave and this thing is jam packed with features. Of course, the local media streaming options include more speedbumps and roadblocks than I'd like, so I...
Ever since I started using Linux, I have made a habit of rescuing old laptops from Craigslist and running one distro or another on them for a while before selling them for usually more than I paid. ...
Search be damned.
My old Lenovo Thinkpad A31p has finally fully died.
Going to treat myself to a new laptop.
$600 budget.
Doing some very light web site building now, so solid image...
What is this wallpaper? Love it.
Not enjoying Unity/Gnome right now. Trying out KDE for the first time in a serious way since I first installed Fedora Core 3.
It has been a while. Just did a fresh install of 11.10. Went w/ Fallback Gnome.
I am lost as to how to configure. Thinking of going back to Openbox.

Thanks folks.
I don't know why I am drawn to the Vaio P since I absolutely hated my eeePC 701. I think it is the checkbook style PC that reminds me of the old Jornadas.
So I have recently rekindled a lust for a Sony vaio P laptop due to its tiny size. I have seen mixed reviews of it running Linux properly though.
So I was wondering what the smallest computer I...
Looks great. Details?
Forgive me if this has been answered, but searches have been un-fruitful.
I recently built a 64 bit Ubuntu 10.10 pc. It is sitting right next to my Windows 7 Premium 64 bit machine.

Problem solved by using Opera as browser. As a matter of fact, installing the Opera plugin made Epiphany and Chromium work as well.
Firefox is still a dead issue.
Sites are not flash based. Only the video. I was just using whatever was automagically installed. Then whatever Flash-Aid installed killed it wholly.
Thank you!!! I have installed Flash-Aid. Now the video just says "LOADING". It never loads. I am wondering if it is a problem with this \dirty\ site and not actually a problem elsewhere.
It...
Ok... So I have been using 64 bit 10.10. And before that 10.04.
I intitially thought it was a questionable AMD quad core CPU, so I killed that system. Now I am running a dual core Regor.
So...
Well I'll be damned. I have been suffering from the very same freezes since 10.04 came out. After reading this, I disabled my wired network (ECS GeForce 6100pm Motherboard) and enabled wireless on...
Special thanks to myself for remembering I posted this before asking the question again...
Screenshots of the month right here... My vote at least.
Details? How'd you get the L-Shaped panel like that?
Here's mine. Sorry, the batteries on my camera were dead, so I used GIMP to show you what it looked like.
And also a REAL screenshot for today.
My first April and first Lucid Screenshots.
So I was steered toward this board due to the onboard HDMI for my new BTPC (Bedroom Theater PC).
I mistakenly assumed video AND audio over HDMI would both work.
Initial Karmic install went...
