Did this work with other versions of Ubuntu?
'Tis good, I haven't any problems with sharing a printer with vista since I have upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04
Probably need a bios update, don't quote me though
Thanks, did the trick
Without the prompt, how do I get rid of the prompt?
You can do one of two things:
1: Burn the image file to a cd and update via the cd
2: Press ALT-F2 and type
update-manager -d, which I did, and found it to be a very long experience, you would...
Think it will be available in American Time, and rather than other times
OK, thanks

3 computers 1 xp 1 vista 1 ubuntu/windwows 7 beta
drivers for my printer on the ubuntu pc yeah I know they are included on the system disc, that is how I installed them
Having installed my printer's drivers for ubuntu, I am having difficulties accessing my Vista computer.
I am having no troubles accessing the xp computer or even file sharing with vista, just...

Don't worry, I have found it here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot
Will this allow for the boot manager to appear, or will it get rid of Windows 7, I am liking Windows 7 beta, at the moment
Having just installed Windows 7 beta, obviously, it wiped the grub boot system, how do I get it back, so as to dual boot?
Obviously, I have the installation disc at hand
Don't think I really can now that 8.10 has replaced 8.04, Samba seemed to have been fixed, though still not sharing with Vista, it is sharing with XP without the need to configure the Samba file(s)
Thanks for that, bit late, but better late than never:KS:lolflag:
Note, the guy sounds like Agent Smith off the Matrix movies

Follow this, though some of this may not be applicable, like in the samba.conf, you may not need to follow the "writable" bit when it comes along, also,...
*bump*
Having solved this problem with XP, I am still having problems with vista-64, flavour, Ultimate
I watched on youtube how to do it with XP, and thinking that it would be the same, it is still...
Thanks, but I tend to avoid all alphas and betas like the plague, for obvious buggy reasons
When the new version of Ubuntu is released, would it automatically via the update manager, upgrade my version of Ubuntu?
it doesnt ask me for a password, but only when i try to access ubuntu over the network, though i do have one for the ubuntu installation
