it probably means your wireless network card is not supported, in terminal run sudo lshw -C network
then try and find your card here...
Open it with rhythm box, then try and play it, it should come with a pop up that asks Ubuntu can't play mp3s, and it has an option to search for the correct plugin, my plug-ins where called GStreamer...
i had a similar problem after using sleep, mine was my graphics card for some reason, if your using nvidia i would look into it cause it just seems to cause a lot of problems with Ubuntu
But thats going off the assumption that higher ups have common sense :/
I would just rely on Google and other Ubuntu forums to find all thing Ubuntu, it hasn't let me down so far, and i think roughing it makes for a better experience anyway, can't tell you how many times...

I would just go to http://www.winehq.org/download , and upack the package using sudo dpkg <pkgname>, thats how i ended up having to do it
