  1. [ubuntu] Re: 10.10 Install problem broke my max disk capacity

Just to make sure, you said you actually ran a program that wrote all zeros to the hard drive? This should have solved it. I ask because you state you have used disk data killers, but I was not sure...
  2. Re: Monodevelop does not put its menus in the right spot

Interesting. Guess they already know about it, then. The question is why doesn't it work right.
  3. Re: Anyone else lose Guest Additions after latest .36 kernel release?

Are you using the most updated virtualbox? Also, you intalled it in the guest, right?
  4. Re: Monodevelop does not put its menus in the right spot

Who would I submit this bug to? The GTK# application I wrote automatically used the global menu. This would suggest to me that Monodevelop would not have to do anything for it to work. This would...
  5. Re: Monodevelop does not put its menus in the right spot

Thank you. That worked. Now I just have to figure out Monodevelop,
  6. Re: The icons on the top right disappeared.

Thank you. I agree a logout and login should have.
  7. The icons on the top right disappeared.

While I was listening to music in Banshee, everything on the right side of the top panel disappeared. A restart brought back the network manager. How do I get the other stuff back?
  8. Monodevelop does not put its menus in the right spot

Every application except Monodevelop and VLC that I have tested on my install of Natty has put their menus (such as file, edit, view...) on the bar across the top of the screen like a mac. I am...
  9. Re: Anyone else lose Guest Additions after latest .36 kernel release?

    Install from repos.

    Edit:
If you install package virtualbox-ose-guest-x11 from the repository, then restart everything works great.

    Edit2:
To answer your actual question, I installed today...

Re: What is Linux? No, really?

I have a strange feeling that some of the people here did not read the first post. Although they are correct (Linux is a kernel), they seem to have missed the point of this thread.

    Also, if...

Re: Error on decimal input C++

Your code works, but I still don't really understand why mine doesn't. Thank you,but I'd really like to learn what I did wrong. Can you, or somebody else, explain why my code doesn't work?

    Error on decimal input C++

I have created a C++ program to solve combinations and permutations, but I can't seem to make it give a nice error when you enter a decimal number.
    Here is my code

    #include <iostream>
    using...

    Re: Java's .jar permission bit

If I had to guess as to the reason for the forcing you to make it executable, I would guess that it is for people who would double click on it.
  15. Swing, AWT, SWT, Java-Gnome, Qt Jambi, or wxWidgets for Java

What do you think would be the best GUI toolkit to use for a java application?

    Re: Beginner Programming Challenge #11

This is odd. It handled 10 + 10 correctly earlier. I'll look into that.

It seems to handle aw4ojghsiu5esrgs56u7ikdyjdt drthisu 5 hrtgh 5 5 + fine (at least it works as I intended it to).

    Re: Beginner Programming Challenge #11

Thanks, I was just thinking about that. I am trying to come up with a way.

Edit: I condensed it, but not through the use of functions. I am sure there is a better way, but that is what I came up...

    Re: Beginner Programming Challenge #11

Here is my C++ entry. I wrote it with the help of google, but without looking at any code related to this challenge. I know it is horribly done, but this is a learning experience. I just started...
  22. Poll: Re: Go (go-lang.org) vs OOC (ooc-lang.org)

I believe that you can put semicolons at the end of a line in Go. In my simple sample, it worked.

The thing about niches could be true, but Google backing could turn Go into something amazing....
  23. Poll: Go (go-lang.org) vs OOC (ooc-lang.org)

What do you all think about Go (the one from google) and OOC? They remind me, for some reason, of each other. Probably because they are both fairly new and compile to machine code. OOC compiles to C...

I improved it and got bufio working!
