bought a Dell and it took about 4 minutes to boot. I did a restore on it(nothing had been changed though) and it now boots in about 40 seconds. I guess something was bad in original install.:-k

I burned ISO to a cd and it worked in my old laptop but was similar to your problems in a new laptop. Error check came back clean but still did not boot completely. I made a new disc on DVD instead...

I am pretty new to all this so here is a easy question. I set the profile to transparent and changed nothing in ccsm, how do I get back my edit and other choices on top bar if I want them?

restore to factory fixed this. I guess Dell didn't have something set right somewhere in it when they shipped it.

ordered a Dell 1420n. I hope it is worth the effort of learning Ubuntu. I have been playing with Gutsy for about a week now and have enjoyed it so far. Probably have a few ???? when it arrives.
