Unless it says sda3 will be formatted, your data on sda3 will be fine.
I honestly don't recall if the newworld partition gets a mount point.
Yes, it would be lost, but you have nothing stored there so you are fine.

Unless I'm forgetting something, you should be able to put the New World Partition in that free space.
1. No
2. Sometimes it is helpful to have certain parts of the Unix filesystem on separate partitions. They can make it so home directories are encrypted without encrypting the entire disk for...
The partition you intend to install Linux on should have a mount point of /.
Sorry, I always use the alternate installer rather than the live one so those options are different than I know, but the first looks it will give you dual boot and the second not so much.
I would let it get to the partitioning section and delete /dev/sda5. Then use the "Guided - Use Free Space" option. It will setup the boot loader and the system partition with a proper mount point...
If you are using the alternate installer there should be little difference.
There are a number of desktop and command line tools for Pandora. They use less resources than the Flash site and work cross platform. I personally like pianobar.
Go to http://www.mintppc.org/content/installation-instructions-mintppc-11 to install it. I will tell JD to check the forum if he missed you.
I am currently downloading the PPC Lubuntu 13.10 Desktop ISO. I will try it on my B&W, but if I do not get stopped at the fixing recursive fault reboot is needed error I don't have high hopes that...
Do you want me to try a newer kernel on 12.04 or install 14.04? (Note: I'm not even sure what exactly we are testing or fixing. I'm just contributing whatever I can since I still have Xubuntu on it.)

What type of media did you burn the disk to? Can you use the disk drive from within Mac OS? Are you sure you downloaded the correct iso? You likely need the alternate iso:...
Powerbook G3s with internal airport do not support wpa2 under any OS. They can be convinced to do WPA1 though. Look into your router settings and try setting your router to WPA1 only. (Your network...
I think it is referring to 'gtk+-devel' .
Yah, I've revisited Gnome & LXDE in the past week and tried Xfce & KDE in the past week. Cinnamon is still on my list. (As is MATE. [which I eventually need to get ported to PPC...])
Sorry, I didn't mean that as LXDE lacks features. I just meant that unlike Xfce, Gnome, or KDE, they aren't at your fingertips. They can be added with a bit of a work, but part of the speed gained is...
Are you talking DEs or Window Managers?
The generally accepted knowledge is:

Gnome/Unity - The default that everyone is accustomed to.
KDE - The second most popular.

Can you be a bit more specific on what you mean by "app". Do you mean an HTML/Javascript based "Webapp" or something in a real language?
(Sorry, cannot read your site.)
GNOME Classic/Gnome-panel != Ubuntu Classic
Edit - Though, anymore I don't really care. I've learned how: XFCE can look identical to Ubuntu Classic; KDE can do eyecandy without being in-your-face...
