You will most likely have to restore GRUB since Windows will overwrite MBR.
I lost count of this kind of threads. Was fun the first time, not the umpteenth time.
Why do you have to post about LibreOffice with each minor release? Like this here:

I am a Software Engineering student, and one of the languages I like to use is Java. I would consider myself an intermediate Java programmer, since I haven't really touched that many advanced...
Yup, the DiskInternals Linux Reader does work. Time to remove the rest :)
How can I read an ext4 partition from within Windows 7? I have installed a driver, and 2 plain explorer software, all of which cannot find any ext4 partitions. Weird, because I am 100% sure that I...
There were days when literally everyone was going for an Arch Linux installation. However I see that people aren't that excited about it anymore. Do you agree?
PS: What other rolling-release can I...
I am looking for a software that can convert a given video file (.avi most likely) to .mp4 (or more precisely to PSVita format) while adding subs. I couldn't really find a choice at the Software...
I don't think it matters, as I am using most of my time planning/researching instead of actually writing code. But when I do, I use the plain old keyboard of the notebook (a Turkish QWERTY).
You should think about indenting your code. I have difficulty working out what you are trying to do. Also you should keep indenting your code no matter which language you use.
*WARNING: This thread contains some spoilers regarding both the book Hobbit and the recent movie version. So please, just close this thread if you haven't seen it yet.*
I have seen the first movie...
I find PDF to be the best for programming books, as most of the time books look out of the place when converted to an e-book format. I have a Kindle DX lying around, which I use when I have to read a...
It's what its name implies: A tool to help you debug your program. It has the ability to run your code part by part, line by line, function by function, ... letting you see what is happening on each...
As mentioned it is easy to read the password even if you put it in a binary, with tools I shouldn't mention here. Best way is to... Well I don't know a way a smart pirate can't figure out from...
I am too bored playing around. Have done the exact thing for the past 10 years or so. I want to become more active, and the best way is by joining a project I think. It would also help me gaining...
I <love> scripting. I try to use scripting languages whenever it applies, and sometimes even if they aren't the best solution.
I know Ruby (the best), then Python (some less) and am learning Lua...
"Oh yes, I should just drive the car with a camcorder in my hand, just in case I spot a giant UFO flying over or something." And the part where he runs after the "UFO" is really brave of him!
VS is best if you are developing in C# or VB.NET, hands down. However many people still use it for C++ too. I haven't tried doing so, since I feel it is not the best platform to do so.
I use emacs (check the avatar :D), however it is not for "beginners". You could have a look at SciTe instead.
@lykwydchykyn:
I don't know why, but I thought they developed it strictly in their labs. Guess I was wrong :P
@TheFu:
I am not saying newer is better, I just want to see new ideas implemented....
I have looked at Google's Go in the past, and back then there was hardly any material to learn it from, or any community. Now that I check it out after some time, it seems way more mature than it...
Lua seems interesting. I have heard of it before, but never really tried studying it. On its "about" page it says that it is developed in Brazil. How come is it open-source then?
I have never...
This wiki about D says it appeared in 2001. I am not sure when the talk about it started, but without proper "appearance" I don't consider it "released".
Same goes for Ruby stating it appeared in...
What are some of the better languages released at most 20 years ago?
I am currently looking at D and Ruby. Love them both.
I have some free time on hand so I can investigate some programming...
