I can't seem to get Kdbg 2.5.1 to do anything on Xubuntu 13.04. The 2.5.0 version worked well enough on 12.04 (Linux Mint) although it pops up some spurious error dialogs when first started from the...
Going into "Settings"->"Session and Startup" choosing "Advanced" tab and unchecking "Launch GNOME services on startup" so far seems to have stopped the crashing back to the login screen.
Why are...
Any problems here came from the installer initially or an update, so how can I have any idea on what to check?
As far as I can tell just about any app will cause the crash, even launching...
I installed the 13.04 Xubuntu beta2 and Ubuntu Studio beta2 and both were working well until I allowed the automatic updates yesterday. Now both crash back into the login screen if I do much of...
When I first noticed the issue I immediately tried changing themes. Running Unity 2D or 3D I didn't have the problem, but switching to LxDE on the Pandaboard and Xubuntu on my amd64 immediately...
Switching to greybird seems to have fixed it. Even after switching back to Bluebird and rebooting.
How do I know which are gtk-3 themes?
Most are hideous and/or hard to read.
I can't stand using Unity so I'm looking at Xubuntu and LMDE for the future beyond 10.04. Certainly with the current state of things, waiting for 14.04 in hopes things get better is not totally off...
Anyone else using a Pandaboard ES with Ubuntu 12.04 getting random lockups?
Pretty much is locked up every morning when I come in and need to do a pushbutton reset to reboot (or power cycle). ...
I've not yet found a good forum for Pandaboard help.
The only thing even moderately helpful is:

I never had any success with any variation of 11.10 on my Pandaboard ES.
The 12.04 armhf release installed and configured fine, but despite a large number of updates it still has random lockups....
Just in case anyone finds this via Google it seems the OMAP4 stuff is not in the "normal" Ubuntu repos.
This /etc/apt/mirror.list line appears to be downloading:
deb-armhf...
Bump,
Nobody using apt-mirror with arm (OMAP4)?
Is there a better place to be asking about Precise on ARM?
Bump, again I'm in the process of moving to 12.04 and would much appreciate a solution.
My 1394 network is 192.168.0.x my wired network is 192.168.1.x (behind a Linksys NAT router so I can run...
Title pretty much says it all, where is the best forum for help with 12.04 on ARM (OMAP4) issues. Specifically Pandaboard ES.
I'm trying to setup an apt-mirror local repo for Pandaboard ES (OMAP4) systems using apt-mirror.
It all seems to work for deb-amd64 lines but fails for what I think the arm lines should be:

With no answer at had, I re-installed from the release so now both systems seem to be working OK as far as I can tell at the moment. I don't like unity :(
I've a pair of Pandaboard ES OMAP4 (armel) systems. One I'd installed a daily 12.04 build from April 23rd. The other I downloaded the release a few days ago.
The system from the daily build has...
Open a text window (terminal) and do: sudo -i
Then try:
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
I did a fresh install on a system that happily ran 10.04 and the graphics was messed up, until I did a...
Seems one of the 103 updates (installed with apt-get update ; apt-get upgrade seems to have fixed it, hasn't crashed since, but I'm mostly just been using synaptic to install the libraries and tools...
Spoke too soon, compiz crashed while using the Dash to try and find synaptic. I don't need any cutesy crap "effects" so I'll see if I can figure how to just keep it always off.
The nomodeset boot option got me dialog boxes I could read. I checked "download updates while installing" and "install third party software" and alls well that ends well.
It automatically...
Totally bad initial experience. Planned to do a clean install on a test system running 10.04. Booted amd64 CDROM and display is synced but unreadable streaky blocks in the windows & buttons -- cant...
Bump.
No ideas?
Should I file a bug report on the network setup tools? or am I not using the "right" ones?
