    You are correct. it was /dev/sdb1 or /media/sdb1 once mounted.

    I unmounted and mounted using the following command as you suggested:

    Usually adding the delay to make sure X fully loads resolves this issue but if you added a 50 second delay, that should be more than enough time. Unless you are running on a beater.

    Like others said dafont.com should take care of you. I would like to think that MOST people who put conkys together will try to use a font that is easily available or otherwise make it available.
