i got it kinda setup my router gets an ip and everything is forwarded correctly i just dont know what im missing

i managed to fix it by reinstalling the nvidia drivers

and then i got the problem again by running nvclock this seems to be the culprit so my question is does anyone know how to fix this without...

I just tried to run Dwarf Fortress under wine in Ubuntu 8.04 beta and it looks all glitchy (See Screen shot)

anyone know what may have caused this and how i can fix it?...

i am starting to think its an SDL issue because SDL/Direct X is the only difference between the windows/linux version plus if people are getting it to run faster in wine that adds more to my suspision

you have to install the advanced desktop effects applet

i cant remember the package name right now but goto the general settings area in that applet and you can set them up there

i made shortcuts

CTRL + SHIFT + F5 = metacity --replace &
CTRL + SHIFT + F6 = compiz --replace &

you can set these up in advanced desktop effect settings
that way its easy to switch them off...

i have zero sound issues with mednafen do you have compiz turned on that can effect it
also make sure your color depth is 24 NOT 16

P.S. are you getting any console output about sound post that...

i had similar problems try mednafen it has the visualboy advance engine in it and no sound problems

plus you can play nes gameboy sms and tg16 roms too

i would like to say i just installed GW with the latest wine and it went perfectly i never touched the settings

i was using this on hulu and videos play fine untill you fullscreen them controls become very slow to respond and right click menu stops working also video framrate drops and you get LOTS of video...

well the errors you are getting look like python is at a wrong version but i dont think you would have installed anything to mess that up

its weird i will think about it a bit more and will post...

i have to ask Kobin how different is your setup from the default
my setup is pretty much vanilla and it installed, setup, and ran great

as for graphic engine this Cedega Wrapped version has fixed...
