Even the FSF disagrees with you on that one, the BSD License is a free software license and it's 100% GPL compatible to boot.

I really like Spatial, I don't think much about how I use it - it just seems to naturally conform to my filebrowsing habits.
Epiphany integrates with my environment, it's faster and the translations for it are way superior.
