No at the moment X10 is still on 1.6 it should be updated to 2.1 Eclair in the next few weeks according to Sony Ericsson. Do not know if we will ever get Froyo 2.2.

There is a plug in for Banshee for internet radio, shoutcast etc in the Ubuntu Software Centre.

HP purely because I have never ever had issues with them and they work out of the box with Ubuntu.

sudo is the superuser privilege. It effectively means you are root. Try again
type the following exactly as here:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

It will ask for your password. Type it in and press...

Run the command 'dpkg --configure -a' just type it into the Terminal and press enter. Then try again with sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

Sounds like you have removed the Ubuntu-desktop. Plug a wired internet connection.

At the Terminal sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop.

then reboot

I am trying to do the exact same thing. I too do not want to use Windows to use Freesmtp and am trying to find a Linux alternative to send mail from localhost on Ubuntu as FreeSmtp does on Windows....

Does TOR slow down your internet connection?

Yes there is. I think its in the repositories. If not google. I am using it but can't remember if it was a deb file or from the repositories.
