Right now my script looks like this (I have more subfolders actually):

Navigate to the folder where you downloaded drivers and run those two commands, that's all. You should get two new files with *.deb extension.

You need to install alien.

Try to purge the drivers

sudo dpkg -P cndrvcups-ufr2-us
sudo dpkg -P cndrvcups-common
sudo service cups restart

then install the drivers again following those steps. I hope this helps.

Apparently steps I used for 12.10 do not work with 12.04.

:) yes, and because I do not like Unity I do not want to move to 12.04.

There won't be any Ubuntu updates? There won't be any application...

It works now on 11.04 with Chrome. That's is the only setup I am using with Lumosity. I haven't tried other releases of Ubuntu, other distros or browsers since I got it working with 11.04.
