    Beware Western Digital Caviar Green if, like me, you're unsure about partitioning Advanced Format drives. I read that the beginning of a partition has to be aligned to a 4K sector. :confused:

    Apologies for delay - I had to reinstall the faulty drive to carry out your suggestion.

    Workaround:

    In the end, I printed the PDF file and chose the 'embed all fonts' option.

    The filesize was slightly larger than if I selected the specific fonts but the problem was solved.
