I'm having the exact same problem with my x230, both with 14.04 and 15.04.
For 14.04 I'm trying with kernel 3.16 and 3.13 - no dice. (Same card on w520 with kernel 3.13 works fine). I'm right now...

So you never came back, and now I'm in the same situation. Please give an update, it will be very much appreciated.
Thanks for posting. I'm always wary of kernel updates - using fglrx too, this post is useful to me. I'm now better prepared to fight possible issues.
I set up an old laptop for some testing, I soon gave up on unity and went for gnome-panel. Unity wasn't tight enough and the shortcuts didn't act predictably enough. Gnome-panel is almost exactly...
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm looking to get a x230 (perhaps the tablet version) over the summer.
So I'll be watching if someone drops by with more or updated info.
You should be warned about the x200-series, some of them have an issue with a high pitched noise, that can't be fixed. They issued a "fix" that essentially throttles down the cpu. I don't recall...
The T-models are fantastic. They're built to last and everything about them says "quality", no question about it. The E-models, are good machines only the casing isn't for the road warrior. I don't...
The edge E 520 has a very flexible lid and I mean very flexible. Place two fingers very lightly on each side of the open lid, move them in opposite direction and the lid easily bends. I've owned at...
I don't know the e420 but my mom recently got the E 520 (a lower priced brother). The machine seems quite ok spec-wise, built quality, though, was questionable enough that I would never get one...
Basically ultrabook seems to mean "Mac Air without OSX" which I find VERY attractive.

A possible solution:
Hi, don't know if you found solutions to your problems. I had apparently the same problem: vmware player opens and boots windows but the screen is totally transparent, it...
This comment suggests it's the new youtube layout

Just tested Opera on youtube again and crashed!!
It's not a browser thing. I'm beginning to really side with Apple about flash.
I saw somewhere that deleting cookies (not sure which but...
I don't think anyone really knows right now. From other reports it seems to affect Chrome as well. I use Opera right now so as to not accidentally crash my machine.
EDIT: Just saw the same crash...
No opera's flash isn't pretty but I don't accidentally crash everything. I don't think it makes a difference to use 10.10 as far as I can tell from other reports.
The 9.04 video issue, if it was...
I've had the same issue since today but only on youtube with firefox (bothe 3.6 and 4beta). It crashes hard, not even the SysRq sequence is accessible.
I think it is specifically youtube+firefox...
It's the exact same on Ubuntu (gnome) since this morning. And it may have gotten worse during the day. When it first happened I switched from "flashplugin-installer" + "flashplugin-nonfree" to...
So any solution? This has been happening for more than a week
It is not "a" font but a collections of fonts. As far as I can tell it contains the following fonts:
Andale Mono
Arial Black
Arial (Bold, Italic, Bold Italic)
Comic Sans MS (Bold)
...
Thanks for the thorough answer.
Many of my journals appear to be scans with poor or no OCR applied (image is shown over the text, or something like that) so I don't think conversion is an option....
How does the color screen affect reading and user experience in general? And most importantly how does it affect battery life?
Hi
Sounds great. I have been looking at the Kindle for years but couldn't decide yet.
How is it for reading already existing pdf files in A4 format? I have a ton journal articles I'd like to read...
Seems Mark Shuttleworth believes so too

Regarding uninstalling LO or Ooo, I have had some issues with LO beta...
I don't use compiz. In fact I don't use any visual effects at all so I don't think it has anything directly to do with Compiz.
If you have the old font in ~/.fonts this will as far as I can tell still be used in preference of the system wide one. So you most likely want to remove/replace it if it exists.
