    Errata: the lower value for backlight is not e0 but f0. e0 is surely lower but the backlight flashes after a bit.

    Partially self-answered. I've done quite like the suggested workaround here here:



    sudo vi /etc/login.defs
    change UID_MIN to 1 <--- (I've put 500 instead of 1)


    ...and my username...
