well this is embarrassing. This is the third time i have reinstalled the library since my error about the library has appeared. It seems now that my unity keeps on crashing every once in 15 boot ups...

hmm... so you said you got problem with unity's launcher changing its color too right? might be unity misbehaved in your machine... try
unity --reset in your terminal... a reset in unity might do...

1. Ran synaptic package manager, from there i searched 'compiz' , selected those installed in my machine...

hold on mate.. there is no need for a reinstallation... sorry for late reply though..

you can boot to live cd mode and then select 'something else' and then just select your swap partition, mark...

post #57 and the above post's partitions isn't different...except the swap area which was functional back in post #57 and unknown as in recent post....

i logged to GNOME this time... and ran
unity --reset-icons... then logged back to Ubuntu... the minimize and maximize icons bar were recovered... im just wondering why this unity refuses to be...
