    I like desktops that look good without glass, cubes, wobbly stuff or even shadows. A desktop thats pleasing to the eye is enough. Gnome is nice, but I prefer customising my look from a minimal start...

    The split is quite raw, no middle ground since everyone would go for that. The important thing here is which option has more weight when you are customising your desktop.

    45-50 sec Debian etch minimal with a few tweaks, 500mhz 300mb ram... This old box is still kicking strong :D With bootchart I get 38 but that doesn't include bios etc..

    I still haven't ran into a torrent program that started everytime from 0% when you want to resume a download. s3a maybe you should try some other download program, but then again you can always stick...

    utorrent is awesome since it's so small and still nice, I used to use it when I had XP. It's a good example of a torrent download program that works without being as humongous in size as many others.
