    u-slayer:

I'm not an expert on this, but I think its complaining about this:

    I use "8x8dct" and "me=umh" instead.

    Re: HOWTO: Logitech G7 Mouse

Update: I wrote this how-to, but since then I moved on to a Logitech MX Revolution mouse. The latest method does not require evdev, and is MUCH easier and more feature rich: use btnx.

smahomad - I wish I knew how, but the only way I know to put in names and addresses is the tedious method described in the how-to.
  6. Re: HOWTO: Rip DVDs in MPEG-4 AVC (x264), multi audio, subtitles, Matroska

For anybody interested, this thread talks about installing MediaTomb to stream video to the PS3. Here is my script to convert video to h.264 format that the PS3 will play:

  8. Re: HowTo: Create LDAP server for shared Address Book in Thunderbird

silly.agent - I don't think the certificates work unless you connect via the FQDN (e.g. ldap.servername.org).
  9. Re: HowTo: Create LDAP server for shared Address Book in Thunderbird

silly.agent - hard to say what is wrong as there are many variables, but try this one change:

    Base DN: dc=servername,dc=org

When it works, Thunderbird won't show you a list. You have to do a...

  11. Re: HowTo: Create LDAP server for shared Address Book in Thunderbird

Pitt Stains - The 389 port is just initial to test, you end up with only 636 "open to the world" and of course your router points it to only one computer, running Linux, thus minimal security risk...
  12. Re: HowTo: Create LDAP server for shared Address Book in Thunderbird

jdpipe - you are right, Luma in the present Edgy / Feisty repositories works fine, don't need to install from source.

Pitt Stains - if you follow this how-to on a server, you will have it set up...

steve101101 - If you're having trouble at that last step, you can simply skip that line and reboot.

  18. Re: What are some cool things to do in Linux?

One fun thing is to go to the terminal and type:

    sudo-apt get update
