Had success under Debian Lenny. Need version 0.4.4 minimum as I'm compiling under 64 bit.
Now I've had a play with it, it's very long winded.
Under Lucid (fresh install):
steve@virtual:~/Downloads/xplab-0.4.3/src$ make
xplab_init_types.c ... cc1: warnings being treated as errors
In file included from...
That would help.
Still getting compile errors though.
I came across this: XPLAB. I've not been successful at compiling it, but it looks very good judging by the screenshots. It looks way more advanced than any other ocr app I've seen and used, and Linux...
If you need warranty work done, most manufacturers simply require that you restore the OS that came with the computer, so it's the same as they sent it to you. Otherwise, it will not affect your...
My friend has an 8 year old TINY laptop, which I think is an N12 model judging by the labels on the underside. It has a 64 bit CPU, so I tried to install Ubuntu 64 bit. The Live CD works a treat, but...
I have a HD mp4 that I dowloaded using BBC's iPlayer and only plays using BBC's iPlayer. All other apps refuse claiming a lack of codecs.
Output from ffmpeg:
[aac @ 0x2b501e0]Reserved bit set....
Thunderbird does this too.
Added compiling ffmpeg with x264 and aac encoding support.

I've had an update to gconf, and it all is now ok.
To add to the mystery:
gconftool-2 --dump /apps > gconf.xml
If you look, there are no keys for awn anywhere. It seems that gconf-editor is having problems.
A bug maybe?
In fact, after making sure awn and all applets and libraries are purged, then removing any files in the filesystem and /home folders, them damn entries remain in the gconf-editor!
Done that already, and no change.
I tried using --recursive-unset with a gnome panel to see what would happen:
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/panel/toplevels/bottom_panel_screen0
...and it works!
So what is keeping the...
I'm trying to do the same thing. And they will not unset. In fact, if you unset a name and value from the editor, they appear to delete. Close the editor and reopen it, et voila! They are all back.
Added encoding video with ffmpeg.
I looked at using x264 to encode to .264 format but the video seemed stuttery. I tried to .mkv, but couldn't mux into anything else. I think I prefer the ffmpeg...
I've setup an account in Evolution for newsgroups, and after subscribing to a group (any group), I only get a few results (maybe 4 or 5) that are several (about 4 or 5) years old. Thunderbird and...
