I am on Ubuntu 11.04. My copy of devede keeps crashing with a very unhelpful error when I try and convert an avi, "Failed to create the DVD tree. Maybe you ran out of disk space" (which I didn't)....
Those are alphas though, not sure how helpful it is to code against pre-beta releases. 7 is still in beta, and 8 is in alpha, did you test against them as well? Just curious, not planning on...
Wow! You really are thinking ahead, eh? :D

Ok, so while I would still ike to know at some point how to uninstall something installed via cmake, I actually got this somewhat working. The tutorial I was following was apparently outdated enough...
See, that is part of the issue I was having:
$ whereis allegro

$ whereis allegro5
allegro5:
$ sudo apt-get remove allegro
Reading package lists... Done
I am teaching myself game programming, and I wanted to try my hand at c++. I already installed build-essential and was able to play around and compile projects using gcc. I was trying to install...

I just tried with a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 and got the same results. Is there a list somewhere of aircards that work out of the box with Ubuntu by any chance?

I did all that, even removing the prior attempt and starting over with NM, no go. In NM I have Sprint connection, available, but when I try clicking that it immediately says disconnected. I see above...
I hate to bump this again, but hopefully more people will be on because it's a weekend, so... any ideas? Thanks.
-Michael
Bump - any suggestions? Could really use some help on this. I am not even sure what I would need to wipe out in order to start over "clean" with the instructions for a second third try.

I am attempting to get a Franklin U600 wireless modem working on a Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402 running Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal. I followed the direction in Sprint's manual here:

The addon updated for me today, and now it's not showing for me at all, in either location.

How do I activate it?

I know you asked this question ages ago, but since this is one of the top results currently in Google when searching for [lexmark x5250 ubuntu] I figured I would help clarify.

Ok, so the tiniest details do make a difference. :)
I was adding it at the end of the file, so flash was starting before that line was getting called.
Thank you for looking. This was...
Yes, it is weird. As I suspected it stopped working after a brief period of time.
Am I the only one experiencing this...?
-Michael
I don't either. I just completely uninstalled flash, removed the fix, and then reinstalled flash... and now it's working, without the fix there. Go figure. :)
However, I seem to remember it...

Recently in the course of normal nightly updates my Firefox got updated to a newer version. I believe that it was a security update, so I don't really want to roll back to an earlier version (I went...

Ok, just noticed something new... when I plug the device in, /dev/disk/by-id gets 2 new items added to it:

My machine crashed (powered down unexpectedly) recently with an 8GB thumb drive attached to it. When it came back up I was trying to delete a file in one of the folders, but it kept telling me that...
