    Even though gksudo appears to be a symbolic link to gksu, meaning that they should behave in the same way, I have seen evidence to the contrary a few times on these forums....

    gksu gnome-system-log and it asks for the ROOT password.(there is none. it's disabled)
    if i change it to 'gksudo gnome-system-log'...

    ..bashrc does not work.

    i added an alias in /home/cb34/.bashrc for testing purposes..
    i cant run: sh .bashrc or with sudo, without getting an error and it doesn't work..

    but when i run: sh /root/.bashrc or with sudo...

    im sorry if this is no real help.. but you have to follow what the compiling process said.. i dont know anything about xen support... but that's where your investigations on what to do should start....
