Anyone...?
Anyone know where to find a Windows port of the BiOF screensaver? I have it in Ubuntu and would like it on my work laptop (Windows XP)
Thanks...
No, listen, don't worry. I'm just used to 'GUI's' - scared of the command line because I don't understand it. I'm happy to leave the techy stuff to you guys, because I know someone will put all this...

Thanks for trying, but no - not really. I can't make it work. I'll back off and wait for someone to invent another btnx.
I'm sorry, that means nothing to me. I don't understand how to use it to start with. Maybe I should wait until there's a nice friendly GUI for me to use.
Sorry, I'm obviously thick or not experienced enough with Linux to understand how this works. Could someone coach me please? I managed to get to the last of Tom's commands and then nothing happens in...
After the first command I get the following, ending with 'Abort'. Why?
root@***-desktop:/home/***# sudo apt-get install git-core g++ libx11-dev libxtst-dev libxi-dev
Reading package lists......
Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place. I'd like to give Kubuntu a try (currently running Ubuntu 8.10) - is that easy to do? Sorry for the naivity, I'm still relatively new to Linux.
Thanks
No. Not quite. Look here at the developers comments. BTNX development has stopped due to fundamental changes in Intrepid. This is well documented with many posts from frustrated users on this forum.
Simple enough question for Ubuntu developers - You are clearly trying to turn Ubuntu into a more 'commercial' operating system, and yet you are removing / disabling functionality such as BTNX and...
Mine too. Out of interest, the guy who developed btnx says on his website that he would be willing to develop something new for 8.10. He doesn't have the time to do it on his own though and is...
+1. FF dreadfully slow... I have a clean 8.10 install...
P.S You're not another NVIDIA proprietary driver user are you? See other posts on this - may be the culprit. I'm going to disable NVIDIA drivers and see..
Finding the same - time for a cup of coffee while FF decides to open...very frustrating. I was hoping on Swiftweasel, but it seems there's no build yet.
I've reported it. I gather you could reproduce the error?

Hi,
I use DeVeDe on Intrepid. When I try to access the Help pages I get the error in the screenshot attached here. Any ideas? The pages are all there.
Thanks
Yep. Thanks.
This is driving me nuts! I used GScrot in Hardy with no problem, but it absolutely refuses to start automatically in Intrepid. I have it added as a startup program with the ‐‐min_at_startup switch,...
I have a BT HomeHub 2.0. Ubuntu Intrepid. Epson RX620 connected to the USB port on the HomeHub. I can print from two laptops on the network - one is XP and the other Vista.
I have read thread...
Unfortunately, trying to install using the getdeb package produces the error as attached screenshot. Synaptic will not resolve the dependency. I'm running 8.10 Beta (with all current updates).
To make it clear though, Pidgin does not support video currently.
aMSN, Easycam2, Logitech Cam and USB headset. All working perfectly.
Hardy 8.04 / All Updates
Go try it...
I am using aMSN, from the repositories, with a Logitech webcam and Logitech USB headset. Cam and full audio with no problems.
I had to install Easycam2 to provide the cam drivers. The Easycam...
