    I am trying to copy a 6.8 GB file from a local hard drive to a portable USB drive and it fails. I get "error splicing file: fill too large" message.
    This is surprising, maybe I need to reset...

    --- first I backed up my /home to a USB drive including the hidden files
    1 booted to my 11.04 64bit Live CD
    2 went direct to install.
    3 chose "other" location
    4 checked...
