Okay, so look at the UUID information from blkid and fstab and compare.
You will see the first two entries from blkid match fstab, but the third entry is missing from fstab.
Looking at fstab,...
From here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Fstab
open terminal and enter sudo blkid
/dev/sda1: UUID="8aac5db5-393e-41a1-8762-f1c61e6176fd" TYPE="reiserfs"
then sudo gedit /etc/fstab

Worked for me, too.
I got lucky and had someone give me a newer motherboard / cpu and memory. The board has nvidia geforce 7025 onboard video, so 12.04 is working okay.
I'd tried everything, but nothing gave me...
I'm very much interested in knowing the fix to this, also. All I have are nvidia cards, and Ubuntu has left me high and dry.
I guess I could just dump 12.04 and go back to 11 until this is...
It's been ages, but my system is running sluggish, and I figured if I had something in the background to slow it down more I'd at least be able to see what was going it.
... no wait... never mind....
I'm having this same problem, except it's a pci card, not agp.
e-Geforce FX5200 128 MB PCI. It has dvi out which is what I want.
From what I see here, I ought to just dump 12.04 and install...
Another upgrade last week messed fstab up. Could not attach a usb device (my camera or a thumb drive).
Had to manually edit fstab.
Somebody needs to be aware of this somewhere, I think. This is...
I read in another thread that gvSIG was as close to esri/arcgis as you can get, so I'm download it right now. I've been doing some family research and I want to be able to map out old family lands,...
At the risk of being accused WRONGLY of necromancy AGAIN, I am compelled to ask if this this thread is still relevant. Is this thread still relevant? I use ArcGIS at work and want to have the ability...
I just upgraded to 11, and of course I was stuck with unity or something. Didn't work. I was left with a kindergarten set up that didn't respond when I clicked on stuff. Fortunately I could boot to...
Sorry, but I thought you were using
smbtree -U Owner
for a netbios name for some reason, lol. Admittedly, I thought it strange, but considering the troubles, I thought you were being...
You guys rock, by the way.
Actually, try this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1502265&highlight=bill-GF6100-M754&page=6 Your name is 16 characters long.
Sorry, mate. The smb.conf file I sent you got my network working with Ubuntu, Windows 7, and Windows XP. I can't help you at all, because you certainly did make sure your firewall on your windows...
I think my problem is the program writing the dvd isn't making a dvd that is recognized by the player.
Devede and BombonoDVD create some awesome coasters that appear to resemble actual DVDs.
Well, they play okay on a computer, but once you put them in a real DVD player, they don't work at all.
...
I'm sorry, it's
sudo apt-get install pysdm
I'm not reading all those, but I will ask, did you edit /etc/samba/smb.conf to show the linux box workgroup name the same as the windows workgroup?
That's the main number one problem I have....
Just for the heck of it, try installing pysdm and see if it shows up then.
sudo install pysdm
then
sudo pysdm
to run it.

See if this helps.
I have one hooked up and it works great.
Cool. Just watched and recorded, on charging bull cam, some folks putting up an inflatable bear behind the charging bull in downtown Manhattan, and they were making the bear hump the bull.
Not...
How typical.
My wife did an update today, and when it was done it asked her to reboot.
Now I can't see her shares any more, and she can't get on the network at all. Some error about dbus or...
Parts of Pay Paul's post reads as a complaint that "GIMP didn't do a good enough job of copying Photo Shop".
I use phatch, it's confusing as heck, but once you get the hang of it, days have...
