[ubuntu] Re: How to install Gallium3D on Ubuntu 11.10

    If I run a
lsmod
, it seems the Gallium drivers are running from the 'radeon' xorg driver package, so I believe the package you need to install/update is 'xserver-xorg-video-radeon'.

[ubuntu] Re: How to install Gallium3D on Ubuntu 11.10

I don't know too much about Gallium3D in depth, but I can say it works wonderfully for my Radeon Mobile X1400, even better than ATi's drivers (used to) work. xorg-edgers is kind of an experimental...

[ubuntu] Re: Weather Report 2.30.0 stuck

I've been having the same problem for a few weeks as well. Mine's stuck to a particular report; if I set it to Newark Airport, It gives me the forecast for Mon, Jan 31 / 08:51. Similarly with other...

[ubuntu] Re: CPU frequency scaling issues

Actually, I've spoke too soon. If an individual thread launches on CPU0, the result is ~15s. So the freq governor is NOT working for CPU0...

[ubuntu] Re: CPU frequency scaling issues

Actually, it seems to be a false reading. It's strange that the gnome applet show the freq jumping processor to processor, but some tests revealed perfect scaling, so I'm not going to worry about.

[ubuntu] Re: gigabit cards not connecting at full speed.

Ahh. I got it working. It was the cable, only 2-pair instead of 4-pair. So silly, sorry for the trouble :)

[ubuntu] Re: gigabit cards not connecting at full speed.

    Thanks for the iperf tip.

My setup is as follows (all computers have 1Gbps hardware and are connected to a SMC gigabit-switch):
    IBM T60, Ubuntu 9.04 @ 1Gb
    Microway Opteron workstation, Ubuntu...

[ubuntu] Re: gigabit cards not connecting at full speed.

I am having the same problem with the same card. ethtool reports links of 1000 Mbps available, but a link speed of 100 Mbps is established. Also, the switch indicates a 100, not 1000 connection.

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

In Honor of the Apollo 11 mission, here's the Lunar Lander's computer modified to be a conky display!

It displays CPU, TEMP, MEM, FAN, DOWNSPEED and UPSPEED in Vacuum fluorescent display goodness!...
