    [ubuntu] Beeping Noise At Shutdown/Reboot/...

    Not sure why, but the laptop lets out a couple of loud beeps at shutdown. I do not remember it doing this with other versions of Ubuntu. I have checked the BIOS and did not notice...

    Definitely agree that if Ubuntu is more flashy from boot; it would be easier to WOW others to at least attempt the OS. Most are afraid of the word free too--as far as getting support goes.

    I have not had problems with "free." It is the other stuff that turn folks off -- will it work? games? support? etc... In my experience. Just to get folks to try with LiveCD is a major victory.
