well,i'm using 8.10 and initially i started using gnome,but since it seemed to slow down the performance of my computer i switched to xfce and performance has increased,BUT,i can't play my mp3's on...

i think there is an ubuntu distro that comes with fluxbox,can't think of anything lighter than that

i tried changing fonts and fonts appearances and still got the problem.
