Just a quick update. When I switched Wine to version 1.4 hard drive space was no longer available and the server stopped running. Perhaps we just have to wait for a new version of Wine to come out? ...
Okay I was able to get the server running. I redid the virtual drive (the previous one I was trying different things) and installed the above but a version of Mono was also required this time around....
I was able to get Playon.tv to run under Wine using Playonlinux. Problem is that while the program loads and stays in the "system tray" it won't open a connection. Nothing can connect to it. The...
Note: I searched for this error in the forums before making this thread but was only able to find it in the archives. Decided a new thread would be warranted.
Anyway, I installed an Ubuntu...
Mine used to do this in 8.10 and prior with my NVidia graphics card and was simply because my monitor could not handle the higher resolution that the card was capable of. I had to drop it down by...
It's very easy to give up on "converting", if I can call it that. I'm actually pretty tired of touting the benefits or even attempting to show it anymore.

np, thanks for keeping tabs and offering assistance!
It was highly frustrating though since browsing and web development are some of the things I do most often.
It was also affecting...
Okay so the problem is resolved. The issue was NFS but thanks to Matthias in this bug report, using the "nolock" option to mount the remote /home directory resolves the issue!
Thanks to Matthias!...
So, it's still happening. Seems to be a bug though with NFS /home mounts.
Edit: Using Firefox 2 I don't seem to be having this problem. So this may have something to do with Firefox 3 and NFS?

Hi all
I came home from work tonight to find that Firefox would not load. I kept getting the error "Firefox is already running...". I checked, it wasn't! I also attempted a "killall firefox",...
