  1. Re: Enabling realtime kernel in Intrepid (beta)?

Just post them in this forum... it's close enough to final. Chances are most issues will persist.
  2. Re: Enabling realtime kernel in Intrepid (beta)?

    +1
Can you post a source for that?

I'm waiting for them to put the rt patch in a standard distribution for like... forever now.

I already have the beta iso, but I was holding back trying it. I...

[ubuntu] Re: Can I download apps from Hardy.....

Wouldn't necessarily recommend that if 7.10 runs fine. Hardy broke a lot of hardware compatibility for me and a bunch of other people.

[ubuntu] Re: Can I download apps from Hardy.....

    possible: yes
    safe: no

The problem is that a simple installation can result in a partial upgrade that can ruin your system. For example FF3 will need the new GTK, which might break a lot of other...

[ubuntu] Re: uubuntu 8.4.1 jumpdrive problem

    Stupid device naming conventions.
With IDE drives it was no problem to just assign the drives according to their place on the connector: hda, hdb, hdc...
With plug and play stuff they just get...

[ubuntu] Re: Sound Issues w/ everything it seems

    Bump once more.
This still hasn't been resolved in 8.04, and 8.10 is only a couple of weeks away.

I got a cheap behringer soundcard that works with pulseaudio but otherwise it totally sucks, so...

  9. [ubuntu] Re: (hardy) Stuck at 800x600 after installing the rt kernel

I tried to install the nvidia driver again using envy - no luck... this time the bullet proof x-server kicks in and gives me an option to run in low graphics mode.

Anyway - at this point I would...

[ubuntu] (hardy) no sound... various errors

[all variants] Re: Can't install .rpm because of key error

So you did rpm -Uhv dsniff...rpm?
Even if it does work... you're getting yourself into dependency hell. You should find a repository that has the package.

dsniff 2.4b1 is in the repos.
Why do you want to install an rpm?
And if you need this exact package, why don't you use alien?

    [ubuntu] Re: NoteEdit sound problem

Noteedit probably tries to play through timidity, but the package might not depend on timidity because it's rather large - you might have to install it separately.

Nope, as far as I know Macromedia Flash is your only choice on any OS.
But it should run with wine.
See the winehq app-db entry for more information.
