    Re: PyQt QTableView Help

    As far as I understand it, and I think it's pretty much the same in all GUI toolkits, there can only be one GUI thread. You can start other worker threads but they can't directly update the GUI.

    Re: PyQt QTableView Help

    Could you post some code that exhibits the problem you are having?

    Maybe just a window with a table widget and a button that updates the rows and headers.

    Re: PyQt QTableView Help

    I haven't used Qt for a while but think the problem is with the call to removeRow(i) inside the loop and the fact that table rows are always indexable from 0 through rowCount() - 1.

    On the first...

    http://diveintopython.org/ is great if you already know another language. There's a link to the Python 3 version at the bottom right of the page.

    I think the problem is that app.exec_() is being called after window.show() returns. The event loop exits on self.close(), which calls app.quit(), but is immediately restarted.

    You could enter the...
  7. Re: How to set up PyQt4 for python 3.2 in Ubuntu 11.04

    I think you need to install the Python 3 development package. i.e. python3-dev, python3.2-dev or something like that.

    Re: silly little html question

    Like PaulM said, it's not loading the css file. The link tag doesn't have an src attribute, it should be href. Also, the rel attribute is required.

    It needs to be something like:

    The book you're reading is for Qt3. Qt4 can be significantly different. You can download the first edition of "C++ GUI Programming With Qt4" for free from http://www.qtrac.eu/marksummerfield.html

    Re: QWebView doesn't work

    QWebView is a class in the QtWebKit module. Have you added the module to the .pro file?

    Re: problem in qt (phonon)

    I think the #includes should be <phonon/...> instead of <Phonon/...>

    After changing them, and adding the phonon module to the .pro file, it compiled for me.
  14. [SOLVED] Re: PyQT4 pulling data from QTableWidget to QLineEdit

    itemAt() expects the x, y coordinates of the mouse cursor. You want the item() method.

    itemText = self.tableWidget.item(self.tableWidget.currentRow(), 1).text()
  15. [ubuntu] Re: Instalation problem with Eric-5 "Error: No module named PyQt4.QtCore"

    OK, another missing library. Probably libxext-dev. Install that and then run configure again, before make.

    Let me know when/if it finally works.

    Re: Qstring and boost::filesystem::path

    I've never used boost and haven't used Windows for years so I can't really help with the encoding issue but here's a little Qt program to help you test.

    You can strip out the tags with this sed command:

    I think that's right. It worked for a quick test file I made.
  20. [ubuntu] Re: Instalation problem with Eric-5 "Error: No module named PyQt4.QtCore"

    When you install PyQt4 from the repository it will be built with Python 2. You're going to need to build Eric's dependencies with Python 3. I learnt a bit of Python 3/PyQt a while ago and had to...
