They have been closed indefinitely. I'm looking for ubuntu-geek's post about it, but it's been almost 2 months since they were closed.
I'm going to admit to being an uber-geek. In Linux I can compile my entire operating systtem from source.
I'll try to point you towards a solution but not do it for you. :)
All of your "non-empty" entries share a common factor, the index of all of your non-empty entries is even. Think about how you...
In my experience, handcoding a Swing GUI in Java is very tedious and rather time consuming. Especially if you get into LayoutManagers such as SpringLayout or GridBadLayout. However, on the other...
That's subjective.
Probably a difference in Version, the midori version in the Arch repos looks to be more recent than the midori version in the ubuntu repos.
I used it as my only browser for about a month and I never had a problem with it. Then again, our systems are probably vastly different so that could contribute to it.
Did you use it on Ubuntu?...
Check out Midori.
I've used it on Arch and it's fairly good.
From VirtualBox's website:
That seems very anti-FOSS. :P
I reiterate, if you're on a network with computers with multiple different OSs, there is no reason not to check.
I took the survey. Good luck with your dissertation!
If you were me, you'd do it. I have all my Computers networked together Windows, Linux, XP, etc. If my Linux box becomes a "carrier" of a virus, it can infect my other computers through the network.
I'm fairly sure that it's illegal to circumvent security measures put in place by an organization, regardless of your age.
If you aren't installing it on Apple Hardware, I'm fairly certain that you would be in breach of the Apple License. That could be why it's not installing it, because it knows it shouldn't be there....
Well, it makes sense to break away from proprietary software/drivers/etc. If/When Linux rids itself of all proprietary software, we have truly become self-sustaining.
I'd imagine that you could also compile it from source if you're into that kind of thing.
I won't argue with that statement, because it is true, but then there are those of us that are mentally insane. I have 4 GB of RAM in one of my computers and I get nervous when things go over 1 GB...
yeah, if you're going through the trouble of compiling many of your packages/applications/etc, there are quite a few distributions out there which are made for that. Slackware, Gentoo, Lunar, Arch...
That depends mostly upon your processor architecture. Here are two good links for Intel and AMD processors:

Not for me. I only use an IDE for Java. My speed with C or C++ is maximized with vim.
I've just tried out Lunar Linux and my entire system is compiled with CFLAGS tailored to my system. This is purely anecdotal evidence, but right now, Firefox with 3 tabs open is using a little less...
I fell into the temptation of Lunar Linux. :P
dwm, htop, urxvt, some background off of google image search.
Maybe this is just a learning experience. There's nothing wrong with that.
It's similar to why people try Slackware/Gentoo/Arch/Lunar/(other DIY distributions). To both learn something more and to...
yay for recurring discussions...
look at my sig for my answer.
