like many people i am frustrated that it's so difficult to stream xfinity/comcast with linux.

i've noticed that since netflix via chrome started working on ubuntu... i'm able to stream ESPN...

still having this problem.

tried a few more things still can't empty the trash or restore items in trash.

anyone have an idea?

so i just tried this:

cd ~/.local/share/Trash/

sudo -s

sudo rm -fr *

still get the same results. terminal freezes. restart machine. items still in the trash.

no. there are only 2 files in the trash.

i tried this:

rm -rf ~/.local/share/Trash/*

didn't work.

there is a file that i'm not sure of it's origin. it's "fal0lj_Xq3"

Did a fresh install of 14.04 and when i go to empty the trash the computer freezes.

I get the box that says "file operations" and it's stuck on "preparing."

I can see/hear the hard drive...

all i had to do was ping the "new" machine and open a nautilus share and bookmark it as per your instructions and it worked great! first try!

the permissions on all the folders that i have marked as local shares are fine.

this was fixed in an update via 'update manager' that i installed last week. sorry i wasn't able to notice the specific update.

also interesting to note that i did NOT experience these issues in jaunty or karmic. not until i upgraded to lucid did the errors occur.
