That seems to help, i now get 16-17w in powertop (was 24-25W), temperatures are 45-50°C (was 50-55°C). It did mess up conky, battery-time now shows "unknown".

I'm trying to get thinkfan to work on my T420 running 11.10.
I've worked my way trough every step, but when i try to start thinkfan i get:
/sys/devices/platform/coretemp.2/temp1_input: No such...

Did you check the necessary libraries as instructed in the README? (boost_filesystem, SDL, SDL_image and GLEW).
