  1. [ubuntu] Re: Nicotine+ 1.2.16 not running smoothly with 12.04 Precise

My own suspicion is that the newer clients don't play so well with the older ones. How do you find Precise? I'm stuck with Natty because I think Unity is silly! Fine for a tablet or laptop but...
  2. [ubuntu] Re: Nicotine+ 1.2.16 not running smoothly with 12.04 Precise

  3. [ubuntu] Re: Nicotine+ 1.2.16 not running smoothly with 12.04 Precise

So you're no better off?! Aw well. Sorry 'bout ya! I have 1.2.15 installed and it works best for me. They're all sluggish to start, mind you. With your gazillions of RAM and i7 processor you'll be...

  5. [ubuntu] Re: Nicotine+ 1.2.16 not running smoothly with 12.04 Precise

To me, it's the best program ever written. I was waiting for it all my life! I think I had all the ideas for Star Wars. Facten
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Nicotine+ 1.2.16 not running smoothly with 12.04 Precise

My experience is that 1.2.16 and 1.2.17 start a little faster (just a little, mind) and handle shares better but I run into major difficulty when trying to download from other users - I need to...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Nicotine+ 1.2.16 not running smoothly with 12.04 Precise

You won't even need to instal it that way, just download the 1.2.14ubuntu1_all.deb file and right click it. You should get the option to 'open with ubuntu software centre'. If not, go to the software...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: Nicotine+ 1.2.16 not running smoothly with 12.04 Precise

EDIT: & p.s It's all worth a try. Not promising it will fix it! I think I'll have to move...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Nicotine+ 1.2.16 not running smoothly with 12.04 Precise

Hi. I've been having some problems with 1.2.16/17 too, but of a slightly different nature and on Natty. You could try to completely remove nicotine thru synaptic and delete the ".nicotine" folder in...

[ubuntu] Re: Volume maximum at start up, any way to fix?

If you're still having the same problem you can try this:
    Open a terminal and type

    gksudo gedit /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
In the file that opens find the line that reads

    flat-volumes = no
    and...

[ubuntu] Re: Volume Maximum on Boot

Hi exiztone. I had a similar problem on 11.04 and 10.10 and found this bug report. Commenting out the 'flat-volumes = no' line of /etc/pulse/daemon.conf did the trick for me:). I'm using a digital...
