    [ubuntu] Re: VLC: Error messages

I guess your computer is really too slow to decode the video in time.

    [ubuntu] Re: DVD Playback

Umm, is that all? I mean, you should open VLC, open the messages window, try to play the DVD and then check the messages.

Open the VLC messages window (Ctrl-M) before you try to play the DVD and see what it says.

Well, does it seem to play the video correctly or not?
  7. [ubuntu_studio] Terratec Phase 26 - alsamixer shows no capture control

I have a Terratec Phase 26 audio interface that I use in Ubuntu Studio. Everything works well, I can use it to record from various sources via JACK. It's just that the input level is a bit low and I...

Anyone know how this could work with gxine? It's the only player that will show DVDs properly on my system.

  12. [ubuntu] Re: Choose Gutsy over Hardy because of hardware support?

Live-CD is probably a good idea. Thanks.
  13. [ubuntu] Re: Choose Gutsy over Hardy because of hardware support?

Well, I don't know. It's just a rumour I read somewhere. Makes sense to me though, Hardy is an LTS release so they wouldn't want crappy drivers in there.

I don't have the specs here right now...
  14. [ubuntu] Choose Gutsy over Hardy because of hardware support?

I want to update a friend's laptop that has been running Breezy for a while now. Well actually I want to reinstall Ubuntu from scratch, but I was wondering if I should use Gutsy. I've read that there...

  18. [ubuntu] Re: ubuntu crashes and won't shut down neither sometimes

You need to post the last message before the crash. You will probably find it easily due to the time difference to the next one that should be related to booting the system. The info in the messages...
  19. [ubuntu] Re: ubuntu crashes and won't shut down neither sometimes

  23. [ubuntu] Re: System Monitor showing incorrect bandwidth usage
