Hello,
I just recently returned to Ubuntu after using Debian for about 12 years.
I'm having a problem with Pulseaudio. When I press Ctrl+Alt+F(x) to switch to a virtual terminal, and then...
Myself, I'm using XFCE now. I had been using GNOME2 until last month, when I decided to switch away after reading news about GNOME3 and trying it out in a liveCD.
Hello,
There have recently been some big changes in desktop Linux. GNOME 3 and Unity have been released and people are beginning to use them. Some people like these new interfaces, and some people...
Now first of all, I would like to say that this post contains my opinions, and I am not trying to claim that my opinions are universally true facts.
I switched to Debian back in mid-2008 when...
Bump.
I updated to Hardy (8.04).
Programs using Pulseaudio are very very loud, much louder than programs using alsa. I can change an individual stream's volume with pavucontrol (why on earth is this not...
The ubuntu logo is actually a very simple idea, so it's very possible that MS's design team came up with a logo to show unity of people. And the first thing that could come to mind is people holding...
I updated to gutsy on a computer, and then it started freezing regularly.
Yes! Finally! I have been waiting for this.
When will Firefox 3 be released?
I overclocked my opteron processor, using a Zalman CNPS 9500.
There's a thread on this forum somewhere called "super pi ubuntu". Look it up; that tool, "super pi", is very useful for testing...
Skoal! Long time no see. It's great to have you back with us.
Back on topic; I had a strangely similar problem recently with my own computar, but that was after I tampered with it. But anyway, I...
Here's mine:

4 24 4.8% dmesg
5 22 4.4% sensors

Professor fate! This is very exciting. I'll follow you about and do my best to answer your support requests.
I have:
1 fan in the power supply
1 exhaust fan at the rear
1 fan on the cpu cooler
1 fan on the video card
That is four fans. However, the one on the video card runs at a very slow speed,...
AMD 'Extreme DANNIS 9000+' CPU, over 9000 GHz (engineering sample)
Dapper worked the best for me, but hoary is my all-time favorite.
This is the hardest hard info ever.

Summary
Computer
Processor Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 175
Memory 1554MB (333MB used)
Operating System Ubuntu 7.04
The first thing I noticed is how crippled the new version of Eye Of Gnome is.
My computer was first built in 2005. At that time, 512MB seemed like a fine amount. But as time went by, and the bloat of software increased, I decided to add 1GB of memory. So I have 1.5GB of RAM.
My brother was using a Celeron 733MHz computer for this job a year ago. I noticed that the video got choppy in some places, so in this case I would suggest looking for a faster processor.
These days, I turn my computar off because of the noise it makes.
I've also been turning it off so the arctic silver will set properly. For the same reason, I've turned off the CPU fan speed...
I think it would be great to see a review with PriceChild, or forrestcupp.
I'm going to wait for the phenom, too. Gotta buy AMD. I gotta KEEP STRONG with the AMD processors. I can't let INTEL flex their hands over the CPU MARKET so EASILY.
Why is there an option for intel graphics? I thought that intel released open drivars for the graphics devices. Is this not true for some of their graphics devices?
