So strange, I have used
sudo mount -t cifs //server/share /mountpoint
for a long time. Never have had a permissions problem until today. I am not sure why, but it wouldn't work starting today. ...
Similarly, if you are having this issue and are using VLC you can fix it by going to TOOLS=>Effects and filters=>Video Effects=>enable and put the Hue slider to the center. Works like a charm. Only...
I am having the same issue. I am using wicd to manage wireless however. I find that if I 'sudo rmmod' the appropriate wireless module, 'sudo modprobe' the wireless module and then I stop the wicd...
It may be of note that with the Audigy 2 soundcard that I have (and I assume all the Audigy cards that use the same driver snd-emu10k1) also requires one additional thing to make the audio work...
So my question I think is fairly simple. I have a lot of recovery to do. I already have recovered the files but directory structure is not preserved. Is there anyway to have ntfsundelete...
I wish I was smart enough to do it.
In the meantime I have installed the hal-applesmc package for intrepid and it is working fine on my MBP 3,1.
Thanks.
There is a single user mode. In your grub menu during boot there is a recover option, that is single user mode. You can then fix your sudo problem.
So, is does anyone know when the hal-applesmc package will be built? I can't find any timeline anyplace.
I just did a fresh install of Jaunty an a MBP 3,1. Can't get keyboard backlight to work because the hal-applesmc package isn't available yet. And the 'eject' key doesn't do anything at all. Anyone...
will@will-laptop:~$ hal-find-by-capability --capability keyboard_backlight
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/macbook_pro_keyboard_backlight
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/applesmc_keyboard_backlight...
So, following all of the suggestions given here I still got no keyboard backlighting at all. Regardless of what I set anything to in gconf or what I comment/uncomment in the .fdi file.
I have a...
So, I had to remove the applesmc-dmks package and then reinstall the hal-applesmc package to even have the 10-applesmc.fdi. So, I uncommented the two sections for sensors but I still have no...
I'd love to try out the light sensors with my 3rd gen MBP, but I don't have a 10-applesmc.fdi file. Is there somewhere else that this is stored?
do you maintain this VPN? It seems odd to have a gateway of 255.255.252.0 on the added routes. Is that supposed to be that way? I can't think of why you wouldn't want it to be 255.255.255.0
If...
I do have a MacBook Pro Third Generation. (macbookpro3,1). Those are the only settings that I have in my xorg and it works fine. Way better than when I had that huge list of stuff.
but the point is that vim has options.
Either way though, either one is a commandline text editor that our friend here could use.
mutt is another mail option. I haven't used either so I have no opinion on which one to use.
yeah, but how is that easier that :wq?
Funny that, I haven't ever gotten nano to successfully save a file. VIM is easy.
+1 for FINCH
+1 for screen (this one is a lifesaver)
while in firefox go to edit->Preferences and on the main tab where you can choose your homepage, you can do the dropdown and select firfox to start with your last session.
That's actually pretty cool man.
I would use VIM instead of emacs though. I look forward to reading your updates
Sometimes after you install apache and then php you need to restart. I had to. After that the php stuff worked.
I have always had an ok time with gnash. Have you tried that? It is in the repos.
When not bump? Everyone else is doing it!
