Author here. The upgrade kit hasn't yet been written because it will be based on 13.04, discussing important changes and so on from the 12.10 release that comes with the book. These are the same...

Coauthor here. It takes time for contract details to be worked out. Amazon listings are no longer a special case and publishers (like Prentice-Hall, who publishes this book) have standing agreements...
