    I do not know, because I don't have that model, but if it has Hybrid graphics(both Intel and ATI) then you may have problems. Mine has hybrid graphics, but there are ways of getting it to work well....

    Glad things are working for you. As for the rotate script, you shouldn't need to run it as sudo. Also instead of sh rotate.sh use
    ./rotate.sh

    sudo chmod +x /etc/gdm/PostLogin/Default
    And if that doesn't work... try changing the second line to

    chown -R bla:bla...
