Nevermind, I figured it out. I had xbindkeys enabled and using the same button, they were conflicting. I disabled the setting, logged out and back in, and it's working now.
Previously I was able to simply middle-click and get my scale plugin, however now I can't. It's the only gripe I'm having with 11.10. I tried changing it in ccsm and the key combos work, but not...
I'm trying to fsck my 9tb mdadm RAID5. Whenever I do it, it takes a while, then I get something to the effect of "can not allocate memory" after a long wait. I've found that adding a large swap...
I was having issues with my raid5mdadm, either dropping a drive or getting really slow reads. I replaced the sata card that 2 drives were connected to, and it was working fine. I left it last night...
[Solved (sort of)] It was a bad sata pci card, but I have a new issue, I will repost it as a new thread
Not sure why, but my mdadm RAID5 just dropped 2 drives. I was rebuilding one of the drives...
I got is solved. When I did "sudo mdadm -E /dev/(each of the drives in the array)" I noticed that the superblocks said different things, but had the same "magic number". I did "sudo mdadm...
I'd say that the full install is *much* easier. More so if you are just starting out and installing gnome anyways. If you want to learn how to build a car, buy the frame, and add parts to learn. ...
I have a computer running 10.10 as a simple fileserver, with an mdadm softraid5. It was working fine (I had to assemble the raid by hand after each reboot). Now it won't assemble, it keeps saying...
(I think I solved your login issue at the bottom, but you should read these paragraphs too)
I would say to be patient, this is all happening within an hour, so people are helping. I am also...
It could be the part you recognize, the one you know how to fix, plus a much deeper payload as well. There is no way to tell. If the virus is beyond detection at the moment, there will be no way to...
I always go for option 1. Much easier, and you *know* for a fact, that your install is clean.
tkelito's suggestion may work, but the virus writers are always a step ahead of the anti-virus guys. ...
So with KDE4.6 + 11.04, it seems to be trickier to get Compiz working. Compiz has the ability to use the middle-click on the mouse to do "Present Windows" or Scale/Expose depending on who you talk...
When I started using Linux full-time in 2006 (Ubuntu 6.06 to be specific), things were primitive/painful. Now everything is easy.
Most of the programs you listed have free Linux counterparts. ...

I followed these directions: http://www.kremalicious.com/2008/06/ubuntu-as-mac-file-server-and-time-machine-volume/
But whenever I try to connect from my Mac to my Ubuntu AFP share, I get "invalid...
I have Win 7 on an ide drive, and Ubuntu on a sata drive, and everything shows up fine. The ide drive is the master drive as well. Is the sata drive on a card or the motherboard? If you're...
Start up with the new kernel, and have Device Manager install the drivers for your card. You went the hard way right away. What video card are you using? How many upgrades have you done? I always...
I'd say Duke 3d (+ Expansions) ~= Doom
Try System -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers
You might be able to install the drivers from there. Further than that, I don't know since everything I'm seeing on google says wifi should just...
I don't know what site that is, but I wouldn't use it. The files are windows program files, that is what the .exe thing is. Personally, I wouldn't trust a site that uses an EXE for videos, since it...
I'm guessing this was a joke. But either way, why don't we include a "How To" or "What to do now" video that plays after install? Like "Go to Applications, Software Center, then do this to install...
From your first post, I get the picture, Internet->DSL->Your Rig->Switch->Wireless Router/AP
In the above scenario, you do have 2 network interfaces. The DSL modem is a network interface, as is...
I'm getting (seemingly) random lockups. Mainly when doing something with Nautilus. I've fscked all my drives, so I'm not sure what else to do. The drive is connected via SATA. I think it is on an...
What if I have to reinstall ubuntu, can the mdadm array be recovered on a fresh install easily?
