running ubuntu 8.10 and im trying to get something better than the generic driver for my HD4350 (RV710 chipset?)
using the restricted drivers produces a blank screen at login.

as far as I know whenever you manually install the drivers from nvidia's site that they will break on each kernel update (at least thats what nvidia says)
ok I'll give that a shot, but should I remove old nvidia drivers and if so, how?

oh wait a sec, it didn't fix it, all it did was turn off compiz fusion... I should have mentioned that I was running compiz or fusion or whatever the Desktop effects are called my bad

nope, that didn't help.... but the theme is nice
after some experimenting, the issue seems to be having multiple lan cards installed. After removing one it looks like my problem is fixed....
