Was the previous version of Ubuntu installed on the D: drive?

Am I reading correctly that you had data on the D: drive and then installed Ubuntu on that D: drive?

If that is the case, it sounds like you overwrote at least a portion of the data with the...

This will scan for drivers. You may get suggestions from jockey, you may not.

This may not be a popular answer, but you could re-install the proprietary drivers.

Ouch! Your best bet sounds like the card. Chances are Ubuntu overwrote the ones on the comp. I'm not using the Unity interface, but I'm pretty sure there should be a 'places'
