    [SOLVED] Re: Shared Data Problem

Am I reading correctly that you had data on the D: drive and then installed Ubuntu on that D: drive?

If that is the case, it sounds like you overwrote at least a portion of the data with the...

[ubuntu] Re: Time Lock on Ubuntu

@Foxy123 Sorry, but no I didn't. My Dad ended up in the hospital this weekend, and I spent it visiting him and running some errands for him and my Mom. I still intend to work on this though.

Nice. I'll have to check out Gnome Nanny. I was trying to do the same thing editing pam.d files. With no real success.

[ubuntu] Re: hp mini no sound 10.04

hmmm... Do you have the most recent kernel? I'm trying to remember if there was a separate kernel that worked well for the HP mini's. I'm probably thinking of the Acer Aspire One.

[ubuntu] Re: hp mini no sound 10.04

Ok. A couple of thing to check.

    In terminal:

    jockey-gtk

This will scan for drivers. You may get suggestions from jockey, you may not.

    Also in terminal:
  12. Re: I changed the owner group of my root directory

I'm with cavh. Get a live CD and mount the file-system. It gets a litte ugly though... You still have to change the ownership of the subdirectories to their defaults. If you "chgrp root /" then the...

  14. [SOLVED] Re: can't get unity or unity 2d after removing ati properity drivers

This may not be a popular answer, but you could re-install the proprietary drivers.

    In terminal:

You should see a splash screen that says "Searching for Drivers"
    Then in the window...
