But the resolution that Ubuntu chooses is absolutely not suitable and hard to use, why would it cause problems?
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04. new PC and new installation.
When I go to display in system settings I can't choose a suitable resolution, so how can I add a resolution ?
Upgrade done. it's all good,except that it takes some time to respond when opening a program and I keep getting this
I'm upgrading right now, if it all works fine then I'll do a clean install again. it's a new pc so I have no data to lose.

When I try to upgrade to 14.04 I get
And the reason is probably because my hardware is too new and there's no driver. because I bought this PC two days ago.

I've just installed Ubuntu 12.04 and I'm using Intel Graphics. I can find my monitor resolution in the settings so I want to add it using terminal.

I've just changed my Ubuntu interface to Unity 2d and since then I can't see the video of any file,but can only hear the audio.
It's happening on VLC and Movie player with every single file...

I plug my S3 to my PC which is running latest version of Ubuntu and for some reason I can't view or move files from or to the phone.

I have created a file which auto connects to a server and than joins a channel. now I can use the command load -e file.txt
in order to automatically load that file..

All YouTube videos are lagging on Chrome,but on Firefox they play just fine.
oh and I can hear the audio without a problem..

I guess I'll just install Ubuntu 12.04 this Thursday on a new partition,then move the files I have on Windows 7 to Ubuntu. using Nautilus file manager.

I download Ubuntu the .iso and now I'll burn it to a DVD and install it by creating a partition. won't use webui.
Everything else should go fine,else I'll just post here again.
I don't want to run Windows..all I want from my windows right now is the data. forget about the programs.
How do I move all the data to Ubuntu and then remove Windows ?
