It is prompting me that the key i generated using ssh-keygen is not a RSA1 key file /home/sample/.ssh/id_rsa

sample.desktop% ssh -i /home/sample/.ssh/id_rsa -vvv server1
OpenSSH_3.7.1p2, SSH...

No i am not getting a denied error but its still prompting for a password..Yes the daemon was restarted..there was no authorized_keys file in the .ssh so cp'ed it.

BTW is there any other way i cud...

I want to make a passwordless ssh to one of my server from desktop..So I created a public-private key

Its displays the following error

Do i need to install GTK+

This isnt exactly X forwarding but i want to run my eclipse instance which is installed on my desktop on a remote machine...

Any ideas?

Format the partition you wish to install ubuntu on as ext3

Try to Remove it Completely from Synaptic Manager

How about Purging mysql-server..But before that back up your mysql data in /var/lib/mysql


sudo cp -r /var/lib/mysql /var/lib/mysql.tmp

sudo apt-get purge mysql-server

sudo apt-get install...

He said he couldnt get to the shell..

I Had the same problem once..Try to quit pidgin,


rm -rf .purple

and configure again your account.

All u need is to backup the deb files and copy them to a new system,followed by a

sudo apt-get update

Now you can install them offline thru synaptic
