[ubuntu] Re: Acer Aspire 4820TG TimelineX Thread

Oh, yes, it looks like that indeed.

Hum... Here the system reboots instead of shutting down, and it also happened before I learned how to power off the second card. I do consider this to be an...

[ubuntu] Re: Acer Aspire 4820TG TimelineX Thread

On shutdown, I see error messages scrolling away too fast to read them (I think it's the same one repeated forever), after which the computer reboots.

Right now I'm running on the patched 2.6.32...

[ubuntu] Re: Acer Aspire 4820TG TimelineX Thread

@rufferson: I have problems at shutdown with your kernel packages. Does it work fine for you and others?

On a more positive note, I reported this bug earlier on Launchpad as...
  4. [SOLVED] Re: How do I install PDT with packaged Eclipse 3.5?

Thank you, SevenMachines, this works fine for the eclipse-platform package as well!
  5. [SOLVED] How do I install PDT with packaged Eclipse 3.5?

I'm trying to install the PDT (PHP Development Tools) plugin over the packaged Eclipse 3.5 available in the official repositories. I followed the instructions at...
  6. [ubuntu] Re: LTSP5: Installed Firefox as a local-app, how do I get Flash too?

Yes, that should be enough... I don't know what more to suggest, then... Sorry!
  7. [ubuntu] Re: LTSP5: Installed Firefox as a local-app, how do I get Flash too?

Ouch! That looks tremendously more complicated than what I had to do to get it to work! :-( I'm happy to know that you managed to do that!

First and foremost, what kind of CPU*do your thin...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: LTSP5: Installed Firefox as a local-app, how do I get Flash too?

This looks like one (or many) of these possible problems:

    1) your thin clients cannot resolve domain names
    2) your thin clients cannot properly route packets
    3) your router (tipically the LTSP...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: How to copy ID3 tags from one set of files to another?

Well, I used Picard to handle the largest chunk of problem CDs (all 88 othem), but I still have more music to reimport. Suggestions are always welcome.
  10. [ubuntu] LTSP5: Installed Firefox as a local-app, how do I get Flash too?

    Hello,

I'm experimenting with LTSP5. For performance reasons, I need to run Firefox (complete with Flash support) in the thin clients, so I was looking and local-applications.

    Unfortunately,...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: How to copy ID3 tags from one set of files to another?

That looks like a good idea. I didn't know about musicbrainz other than Sound Juicer keeps telling me that my CDs aren't found there.

I downloaded Picard and I had a pleasant surprise. The CDs...
  12. [ubuntu] Re: How to copy ID3 tags from one set of files to another?

    Thanks for your reply.

I don't know Ripper X (I've seen it mentioned in these forums today for the first time), but the ripper I use (Gnome's default Sound-Juicer) does support CDDB. Problem is,...
  13. [ubuntu] How to copy ID3 tags from one set of files to another?

    Hello!

A relevant part of my music collection is made of AAC files I ripped from CDs long time ago, using iTunes on Windows (ugh!), with some OGG files ripped more recently. I want to move forward...

    [ubuntu] Re: Corrupted sources.list

Oh, well, I went through all the alphas and betas since I started using Ubuntu (late in the Feisty release cycle), and I'm almost ready to jump to Intrepid, so I don't fear some breakage and wild...

    Hello, all!

It looks like my /etc/apt/sources.list got somewhat corrupted during the last testing cycle, so I wonder if there's a quick way to rebuild it or grab a fresh version. Failing that, I...
