O.k. I got this result:

Nope. Still no "Ubuntu" session option to choose at the login screen.

Removed gverse. Then re-installed gnome session.

Reinstalled gnome-session. Produced the following results:

O.k. Will try:

sudo apt-get install --reinstall gnome-session

I have 5 session login options:

GNOME
GNOME/Openbox
LXDE
Openbox
Recovery Console
User Defined Session

No Ubuntu sessions listed. Gnome/Openbox and Openbox seem to be the Ubuntu Unity...

Fyi. I just googled Gnome 3. It appears now have the Gnome 3 desktop instead on Unity...kinda neat.

Go premium. Linux version of Spotify works great. It is a preview version but I have had no issues with it.

There is a Linux client for Spotify. Works great. You must have a premium/ paid account though. It won't support the free/add driven Spotify accounts.
