I'm having similar problems with my eyetv hybrid (essentially a HVR-950Q) tvtime wants to use my macbooks built in camera instead of the tuner and I can't change the device from the menu.

Thanks, the latency thing fixed sound for me.Honestly pcsx gave really weird speed and other issues.This is much better.

Audio is glitchy and cutscene video has some probs but overall better...

Everything seems to be working better:
power consumption and less heat
water effects working in compiz
interface seems to be improved
cpu usage is down ...

After downloading the alternate install cd I chose to upgrade from it.Works perfectly! :) :)

tried to reinstall grub and still no joy. hardy will boot though.
maybe I'll try to upgrade.

Just downloaded 8.10 and installed on my 3,1 macbook and it won't boot. Tried reinstalling three times and no go.

after doing the "safe-upgrade" the update manager prompted me to do a partial upgrade and am trying that now.We'll see.
Anyway I downloaded the install disc torrents just in case,thank god...

ubuntu is great on the macbook..

The hardware itself is another thing, mine is developing cracks is it shell after normal wear and tear.
