Isn't your solution targeted at the broadcom driver that's built into the kernel? The Netgear WNDA3001v2 requires the use of ndiswrapper. Would your fix work in that case?

There's a new driver on the ralink site, dated 9-15-10, but it still won't compile.
I have the same problem compiling the drivers. According to this post, the driver is now built into the kernel:

I didn't remove 3.1 from my system and the command in step 4 failed with an error message that the .deb was incompatible with a component of the existing open office install.
