    Ok,

    Since that it seems that unity2d was loading without any purpose, I removed it (I was using unity). Finally, it is not loading anymore since that I removed it :P.

    However I don't know what...

    Basically I installed ubuntu tweak and compiz to change the property of the side launcher and font size. I did the same on my laptop and I didn't have any of these problem. I will try to re-install...

    Uhm after watching the result of ps aux, it seems that the process shown are only from the current session which is explaining why you cannot see duplicate processes.

    However it is possible to see...

    After checking a bit more about the different processes, it seems that when I am logging in, several gnome-session are loading too which have as consequence to load 5 times all the processes....

    My point is that I would like to avoid these duplicate processes in order to be less memory consuming.

    By reinstalling, I am pretty sure to not have the same problem. I think that I did something...

    [SOLVED] Duplicate processes in Ubuntu 12.04

    Hi all,

    I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS just freshly installed. I found out that I had plenty of duplicate processes. Usually they are repeated 5 times. I attached a print screen (see attachement)...
